Basking in my Light: Leading up to this year's summer solstice, I decided to take a journey inside myself by facing my internal shadow to remember and reconnect with my authentic soul self. To do this, I participated along with 23 others from around the world in a 12-day Ayahuasca healing retreat at the Temple of the Way of Light in the Amazon jungle of Iquitos, Peru. My two intentions were to experience myself in complete wholeness and full presence and, second, to experience my life work. I didn't ask for exact titles in my intentions but instead experiences so that when I left the retreat, I could remember what it felt like inside and access that same internal feeling when I returned to my everyday life. Through the help of 4 shamanic maestros, five facilitators, and the support of the other participants, I walked away with more than I thought possible. I found my light within, renewing my connection to self and embracing a deeper connection to self-love, kindness, and compassion. I highly recommend this adventure to anyone interested in creating a deeper bond and understanding with self.
