Today’s Takeaway from Free Virtual Coffeeshop Group Coaching – via ZOOM – 07 June 2020 is:
“Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization.”
Mahatma Gandhi
Finding balance is about going inside, being authentic, and living in the now moment. Learning from others and your own experiences and applying all that you learn to practical actions leads to genuine wisdom. This wisdom will help you master any challenge in a new situation or an evolving situation like our current COVID-19 pandemic.
Gaining insight and understanding perspective on a culture, be it a national, regional, faith-based, or company culture is crucial to master challenges successfully entering a new situation in a new place with new people. The ability to open up to attitudes, surroundings, ways of doing that are different from what we are used to, is an underlying key competence to thrive in any new situation. This includes understanding culture and cultures in a broader context, like showing how people take pride in who they are and deserve respect. We do not walk in their shoes and cannot have their inside expertise. However, we can learn a lot about, what is unique about the new culture in another country, a different geographic region, or merely an enterprise’s, company’s or government agency’s distinct culture.
Change, ambiguity, even navigating a pandemic crisis involves opening up to learning and working on a more in-depth understanding. At the same time, we have to be aware of balance outside and inside. Working on opening up to the culture of others can help us to become aware of and stand up for the respect we deserve ourselves from others and from self.
How does learning about or living in a new country, culture, language, and way of being in the world change you? And what is the challenge in it?
How well do you accept new patterns and new opportunities with Confidence?
How can you utilize both division and unity to make your influence have a more positive impact?
How can you better accept, forgive, and let go to heal without fearing the healing process?
